SAFL Premier Division 1 Champions
Paisley 0 Campbeltown Pupils 2.

Played at Ralston near Paisley, goals from Gary and Paul Grumoli secured victory for Campbeltown Pupils AFC, this despite the home side giving it their best shot to avoid relegation to the Premier 2nd Division. It was a day of staying the course for the Kintyre side, 90 minutes of giving little away in dogged pursuit of the championship. Three points were duly gained with a wonderful volley from Gary Grumoli, this followed by a confident penalty kick from brother Paul.

The championship looked to be going to the last day of the season, that is, until news filtered through that Eaglesham had been held to a 4-4 draw by Shawlands. The 36 points gained by 'the Pupils' was now a winning total and a second consecutive SAFL championship was heading 'doon the road.'

As a club, we would like to wish Paisley a speedy return to the 1st division, and, to a man, we considered their efforts to stay up to be commendable. We all agree they too good a side to stay in the lower division. Best of luck lads!
